Job Title: Electrical Designer

Reports To: Electrical Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer
Job Summary:
The Electrical Designer is responsible for developing and preparing electrical designs, drawings, and specifications for construction, manufacturing, or engineering projects. This role involves working closely with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and efficient electrical systems designs that meet project requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop electrical designs and layouts for power distribution, lighting, control systems, and other electrical systems using Revit & CAD software.
Create and revise detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules.
Collaborate with engineers to determine project requirements and design specifications.
Ensure that all electrical designs comply with national, local, and client-specific codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop studies under supervision.
Support the preparation of material take-offs, bill of materials (BOM), and cost estimates.
Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, civil, architectural) to integrate electrical systems into overall design.
Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and site visits as needed.
Maintain project documentation and version control of drawings and files.
Assist in the development and improvement of design standards and processes.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in electrical design or field experience.
Proficiency in Revit software.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, symbols, and design practices.
Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Revit and BIM.
Experience with electrical analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
Working Conditions:
Office-based with occasional site visits.
May require travel to project sites or client locations.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
