Job Description

Our client, a large public sector organization, is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a remote, 12-month contract position . You will support the migration of an enterprise application from its current cloud environment to an on-premise server infrastructure.

Job Description

The DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in managing the implementation and configuration of hardware and software environments for various enterprise applications. The role involves gathering and analyzing system requirements, deploying the necessary components, and ensuring optimal configuration for performance and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Implement and configure infrastructure components including SQL Server, .NET web applications, and enterprise software packages.



• Troubleshoot and optimize configurations to ensure performance, reliability, and security.



• Investigate application problems and perform root cause analysis with resolution planning.



• Develop and maintain system administration procedures and technical documentation.



• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deployment strategies.



• Conduct proof-of-concept deployments for emerging technologies and make adoption recommendations.



• Manage SSL certificate lifecycle across web farms.



• Install and configure server software including:

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience installing and supporting Microsoft IIS (versions 6.0–10).



• 8+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2005–2016), including high availability clustering.



• 8+ years of experience with Windows/SQL clustering and Active Directory troubleshooting.



• 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing web server environments.



• 8+ years of experience in overall application integration and F5 load balancing/reverse proxy configuration.



• 6+ years of experience implementing and managing PKI infrastructure.



• 6+ years of experience with Microsoft cloud services (PaaS, IaaS, Application Gateways, etc.).



• 6+ years of experience administering LaserFiche (including QuickFields and Workflow).



• 6+ years of experience with distributed web applications using Oracle, IBM DB2, or SQL backends.



• 6+ years of experience implementing authentication mechanisms for web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of load balancing technologies and virtualization.



• Familiarity with authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, OpenID, SAML).



• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.



• Experience integrating TFS/VSTS with Azure Web Apps.

This is a remote position.

Compensation: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour
